Applying the Business Case for Sustainability

GMIC Sustainability in Action Series

July 10, 2012 at 9:00am PST

While many of us understand the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of implementing sustainable practices within our meetings and events, we often forget to address one of the most important questions: the ‘why’. Aside from the obvious need to manage our environmental and social impacts, there is a growing recognition of the huge opportunity associated with being a more responsible business. Understanding the business case for sustainability and how it applies to meetings and events will help you articulate to your stakeholders why CSR will benefit your organization in order to get the necessary buy-in to ensure success.  In this session, participants will: Understand the key benefits of being a responsible business; determine how each of these benefits could be applied to the meetings and events they are involved with; discuss ways to communicate these benefits with internal and external stakeholders.

For those who attended the similar session at the GMIC Conference, here’s an opportunity to review the benefits, and for those who missed it, you’ll find this interactive session valuable as you learn to articulate the benefits of a responsible business and how to apply it to your own event professional role.

Please Note: Due to the interactive nature of this webinar all attendees will need to log on and listen in using their computer (VoIP). using headsets and a mic are recommended. If you have any questions about this please email
