GMIC Project, Proposal and Bid Submission Page

Your participation in GMIC is an important investment in transforming the market and improving our industry as we expand our role in the sustainable meetings and event market. Join our global organization, and give yourself the opportunity to network with members worldwide and with other professionals in your local community.

Please submit ideas for project collaboration with GMIC here. GMIC's strategic goals that align with project submissions for 2013-2014 are identified as follows:

  • Interactive On-line Community Platform: GMIC is seeking project submissions for creating an online library and platform where GMIC’s sustainability resources and educational offerings can be organized and easily accessed for members. We would also like this platform to facilitate online discussions centered on issues of sustainability in the meetings and events space.
  • Destination Assessment, Research and Reporting: Destinations are the nexus of meetings and events. GMIC seeks to collaborate on research about the sustainability elements of destinations in context to the meetings and events industry to help raise awareness about how sustainability from a city wide scale can impact and enhance the sustainability in meetings and events.

The primary target audience GMIC seeks to support, pertaining to the above project priorities, is meeting buyers/planners. The secondary audiences are destinations and meeting venues that support planners to hold sustainable events. GMIC is open to creative partnership opportunities and welcomes in-kind project proposals as well as some fee based and revenue sharing proposals, based on budget, priorities of the council and member needs. If you have project recommendations or research ideas outside of the above areas, please consider submitting projects to the GMIC Sustainable Meetings Foundation.

Review Process for Unsolicited Project Bids: A project review committee which may be comprised of members of an advisory board or board of directors*, education committee and/or staff will review the project submissions and map concepts against GMIC's strategic goals. GMIC and any representative of the committee will not share any confidential or proprietary information pertaining to project submissions. You have the option to submit only the general concept during this submission stage and indicate that you prefer an initial review and follow up with only a staff member.

*GMIC Conflict of Interest Policy for Board of Directors.

Review Process for Solicited Bids: Other bids related to the GMIC Sustainable Meetings Conference will be sent out to members in a separate forum. These project areas may include, call for speakers/proposals, mobile app providers, audio visual and virtual technology production, case study submission and others through a formal bid process. Updates on open projects for bid, solicitation and/or selection will be provided quarterly to members and public, where appropriate.
