GMIC Strategic Partnerships

The Green Meeting Industry Council (GMIC) seeks to partner with organizations that demonstrate leadership in sustainable best practice for the hospitality and meetings industry. If you are interested in exploring the possibilities of a partnership, we would love to hear from you!.

GMIC is a member of the Convention Industry Council, led the development of the APEX/ASTM green meeting standards, is a liaison with the ISO 20121 standards, and serves in an advisory role for the Global Reporting Initiative Event Sector Supplement. As a signer of the UN Global Compact, GMIC adheres to social and environmental principles for ethical business practice. All GMIC business partners adhere to the GMIC code of conduct that reflects these guiding practices. GMIC’s strategic and industry alliance partners include:

IMEX (America and Frankfurt): GMIC has a long standing partnership with IMEX. GMIC powers the Sustainability Hub at both the Frankfurt and America shows, partners with IMEX on the Frankfurt Green Awards program and hosts the IMEX Future Leader’s Forum program as part of GMIC's annual Sustainable Meetings Conference

Radisson Blu's Experience Meetings: GMIC recognizes Radisson Blu's Experience Meetings program and its three core components, Brain FoodBrain Box, and Free Internet. GMIC entered into this exclusive, three-year strategic partnership in late 2013.

The Natural Step: The GMIC endorses The Natural Step sustainability framework for the meetings industry and is co-creating a guide on how to apply The Natural Step framework for events. GMIC has held this partnership since December 2011.
